The Carolina Panthers placed receiver Steve Smith and center Ryan Kalil on the NFC Pro Bowl team the National Football League. It will be Smith’s fifth Pro Bowl appearance and the third consecutive for Kalil and his first as a starter. Rookie quarterback Cam Newton was named as an alternate.

The Carolina Panthers will hold the 13th annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive during the Panthers’ game against the New York Giants on Saturday. Fans can donate new school supplies from 6 p.m. until the end of the first quarter on Saturday. Collection barrels will be placed in front of each stadium entrance.
Requested items include: folders, pencils, glue sticks, pens, markers/highlighters, rulers and paper.

This week those athletes showed fans that they appreciate our support. The NFLPA okayed the NFL owners agreement and Roger Goodell says “Football Is Back.” The players voted to approve the tentative deal after a four and half month lockout. The owners unanimously approved the deal last week. Players said there were still some terms that needed to be ironed out.

“We didn’t get everything that either side wanted … but we did arrive at a deal that we think is fair and balanced,” NFLPA head DeMaurice Smith told ESPN.
