Eric Benet has been busy the past few months.  The soul singer who is best known for his failed relationship to actress Halle Berry and going barefoot on stage (he says to calm his stage fright) is preparing for a November 23 release of his upcoming album “Lost In Time.” The current single “Sometimes I Cry” is classic Eric Benet, but it also represents what Eric says you can expect on the new project.

Benet told The News and Observer’s Craig Lindsay that fans can expect a project reminiscent of the 70’s: “

I mean, it has been my taste and my preference of all the music, even the contemporary music that’s out today, you know,” he says. “The stuff that moves me the most is just stuff that is heavily, or in some way, influenced by that era – by artists from that era, by recording techniques from that era, by instruments often used from that era. So it seems I really got excited about the idea of doing a record that, you know, pretty much embraced every aspect, from creative to technical, of making a record from what I would consider to be the most influential time of R&B, which is the mid-’70s.”

Benet says you can also expect guest appearances on the album from Ledisi, Chrisette Michele, Eddie Levert and Faith Evans.
