The singer defends “his truth” in new interview with VIBE.com

A lot of people have been buzzing about R. Kelly’s new single and leaked tracks. And now, even one of his biggest public critics – Trey Songz – has chimed in to co-sign the sentiment that R. Kelly has found his stride in music again.

However, while he will note that R. Kelly is making good music to him again, he’s not going to apologize for comments that ignited a “feud” between the two.

Since you last spoke about R. Kelly, he’s put out some different songs as of recent. Do you still feel the same sentiments towards him?

The records he’s coming out with now are amazing. I’m happy to see that. To me, back then, I felt like it was a king doing things beneath him.

Would you ever apologize to him for what was said in the past?

No.

No? Why’s that?

Because I don’t need to apologize for telling my truth.

Trey has started to appear increasingly defensive if not flat out hostile in certain interviews. There was that one interview with That Grape Juice in which he offered short, snappy answers while wearing shades the entire time (only to cut the interview short).

Just a week ago, he seemed to take offense to a DJ, an admitted fan, who asked about the editing process on his reality show.
