Looks like Usher will be the center of attention in his next video.

The shoot for “Little Freak” featuring Nicki Minaj just went down according to Christy Gamble, who appeared in “Drumline” and was once a professional dancer for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders.

One of her latest Twitter posts mentions that Ciara was also present at the shoot, and since the song (hear it below) is about Usher engaging a menage a trois, could it be that the two ladies will be playing the participating roles?

Anyone watching the Oscars on Sunday will remember when the red-headed lady jumped onstage during Roger Ross Williams’ acceptance speech for “Prudence.” It was odder than the Kanye moment.

The woman, Elinor Burkett, seemingly came out of nowhere and started rambling. Granted I had never heard of Williams or “Prudence,” and I wasn’t really listening to Williams’ speech. Once Burkett jumped onstage I tuned in because it was obvious she was tripping.

According to TMZ, there’s an acrimonius backstory to her behavior. It involves a lawsuit, somebody’s mama and a cane. Read the full story on Rolling Out.

‘The Blind Side’ may have earned several Academy Award nominations and a Best Actress win for Sandra Bullock this past weekend, but Vanessa Williams is clearly no fan of the movie. Williams said on ‘The View’ that the film, which depicts a homeless African-American youngster who is adopted by an affluent white family, does little to improve race relations.

Williams argued that film only reinforces the notion that African-Americans need whites in order to succeed.

L.A. Reid was scheduled to give a speech at a music event this week but canceled.  He says his son was sick but sources say he wanted to avoid questions about his future at the label.

If you haven’t heard, it has been reported that the Chairman and CEO is in danger of being fired from Def Jam.

Today, on Page Six, they repeated the rumor saying Reid was under tremendous pressure to produce some hits after lackluster sales from Rihanna and Mariah Carey.

Anyway, L.A. was supposed to speak at the $1,000-a-seat Billboard symposium, where all the top music industry players would be, but he backed out at the last minute.

Even if he isn’t about to face termination, his plan for success doesn’t sound too promising. A source told The Post,

“L.A. had to cancel because he was called away on family business, not because his son was ill. That was just a story that went around. He isn’t afraid to answer questions about his future with the label. He is about to sign J.Lo [Jennifer Lopez] and isn’t going anywhere.”

Jennifer just got dropped from her longtime label, Epic Records. She claims she’s the one who left.

In her introduction of Gabourey Sidibe as a nominee for best actress, Oprah Winfrey called Sidibe an American Cinderalla. They were glowing words, but will they ring true?

Casting directors and agents in Hollywood are sounding off on Sidibe’s weight and her chances at future success. Those in control of casting talent for productions in Hollywood are saying Gabby may not be so “precious” beyond the Oscar- nominated movie. Her weight may make her unemployable, since only highly specialized roles, which don’t come around too often, would be a fit for the new yet talented actress.

In a groundbreaking report released Monday by a leading economic research group, social scientists turned a spotlight on the financial challenges facing an often overlooked group of women, many of whom could not take an unpaid sick day or repair a major appliance without going into debt.

Among the most startling revelations in the wealth data is that while single white women in the prime of their working years (ages 36 to 49) have a median wealth of $42,600, the median wealth for single black women is only $5.

“The popular image is [black women] spend too much, which is the reason they are running up credit card and consumer debt, but the cost of living has risen faster than income, and they need to go into debt for basic daily necessities,” said Meizhu Lui, director of the Closing the Gap Initiative. “It’s compounded because unemployment is twice as high in the black community than it is in the white.”

For all working-age black women 18 to 64, the financial picture is bleak. Their median household wealth is only $100.

“That means half of [black women] have a net worth of more than $100 and half have a net worth of less than $100,” Ms. Lui said. “So that gives you an idea of how far in debt some women of color are.”

(Wealth, or net worth, measures the total of one’s assets — cash in the bank, stocks, bonds and real estate; minus debts — home mortgages, auto loans, credit cards and student loans.)

“There are excuses and circumstances that have evolved in society, which put black women where they are,” said Esther Bush, executive director of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh. The recession has hit single mothers especially hard.

In Pittsburgh and across the country, the financial burdens of single parenthood fall mostly on women, but black women are more likely to endure the work and responsibility of raising children on their own. They are more likely to be the backbone of their families and communities, with greater responsibilities to support struggling friends and families. READ MORE HERE!
