For those people planning to check out the Star Power Event tonight at the Blake Hotel, in Charlotte, NC (for CIAA).

The Friday night Star Power event at the Blake Hotel for CIAA was the ABSOLUTE WORST planned event I have ever attended in my life!

The Bad:
1)No signage or personnel (hotel staff, concert promoters or security) to direct a crowd of 5000 people where to enter, and the front entrance was blocked by security
2) There was no instruction on where you were to go if you had tickets versus if you needed to purchase tickets
3)There were no turn-stlyes or roped off areas to direct the crowd or keep organized lines
4)combs and hair accessories were removed from ladies purses and literally thrown on the ground by the door. I was told by a security guard if I wanted my comb I could retrieve it after the party and she pointed to a pile of combs on the ground that I could go to.
3) There was one small coat check area to accommodate a crowd of 5000 people so of course they ran out of space and made no efforts to correct this.
4)Drinks had to be purchased with drink tickets, but again there was no signage, no instructions, and no one with a bull horn or on the mike in the party explaining this so many people waited in excessively long lines to purchase drinks only to find they had to get in another line to purchase drink ticket first.
5)The wait to purchase drinks was between 15-20 minutes
6)The restrooms had no restroom attendant, were FILTHY, and 95% of the womens restroom stalls ran out of toilet paper
7)With a crowd that big and the level of disorganization it is by the grace of God that nothing bad happened or jumped off because there would have been some people badly injured or even killed.

I'm from Chicago, and there was and event similar to this a few years ago in Chicago at a club where the promoters were just worried about the money and not the partygoers or the level of service they provided. Unfortunately a fight broke out and what resulted was a stampede and 20 people were killed and trampled as they tried to exit.

I would love my money back and I my comb! :)

The Good: Doug E. Fresh & Biz Markie were Amazing, huge turnout, successful promotion, parking was reasonable
