My92.7′s Patrick D. Cannon Elected Mayor Pro Tem
My92.7 talk show host Patrick D. Cannon was elected unanimously by the Charlotte City Council, to serve as Charlotte’s Mayor Pro Tem last night. Cannon returns to the seat once occupied to replace Susan Burgess who resigned because she has terminal cancer.
He stated at last night’s meeting, “In as much as I welcome the title, I still regard it as hers.”

Author and poet Maya Angelou returns to Charlotte for a much-anticipated event honoring women leaders and raising scholarship money for deserving students through the United Negro College Fund this Saturday.
Our very own, VP/General Manager, Debbie Kwei-Cook, will be honored with the Excellence Award. The Excellence Award was established to honow women who have made achievements in various professional fields. This year honors women in the media.
